Phi Sigma Pi Is Now Inviting Online LSU Students to Join Their National Honor Fraternity

Looking for a way to stand out academically, grow your leadership skills, and connect with like-minded students across the country? Phi Sigma Pi (PSP), a nationally recognized honor fraternity, is now inviting students enrolled in eligible online programs to become members.
Before those invites hit your inbox, here’s what you should know about this honor fraternity.
What is Phi Sigma Pi?
Phi Sigma Pi is a gender-inclusive national honor fraternity that blends the best of academic honor societies, service organizations, and leadership development groups. With chapters across the country, PSP is built for students who are committed to scholarship, leadership, and service, and those who are looking for a meaningful way to connect with others during their academic journey.
Unlike traditional social fraternities, PSP is values-based and ideal for students who want to grow personally and professionally through service, collaboration, and leadership development.
According to the organization, “Our purpose is to assemble some of the brightest and most motivated students on campus and work together in a spirit of excellence to encourage three ideals:
- the acquisition and dissemination of information and knowledge through scholarship,
- the application of professional skills and the fostering of leadership qualities by promoting and advancing the welfare of humanity, and
- the fostering of non-discriminatory, fraternal fellowship within our ranks.
Collectively, these three ideals are known as "The Tripod" of Phi Sigma Pi. Joining Phi Sigma Pi is the first step in a lifelong journey of increased awareness, improved capabilities, greater opportunities, and a network of friendships.”

Hear From an Online PSP Student
Chalanda Samec, an online BS in Accounting student at LSUA, shares why she chose to join PSP:
“I joined Phi Sigma Pi because I was looking for a community that combined academic excellence, leadership development, and meaningful service. I wanted to connect with other driven individuals who value personal growth and making a positive impact. So far, my membership experience has been incredibly rewarding. I’ve learned a lot about my leadership style, how to better connect and interact with other leadership styles, and had the chance to contribute to causes that I care about.”
